Why not come and join us at the St. Hugh’s Community Centre this coming Saturday 27th June (11am to 4pm) when we are taking part in the annual Penge Festival Arts Trail with an exhibition of local creative art works by a variety of local artists. The young people of St. Hugh’s Youth Club have also painted over 30 boards of creative art – come and have a look at their magnificent work. And we’ll have an Encaustic art workshop (waxy art!) and some wood art for all to do and get involved in.
And don’t miss your chance to see “The Cross of Flowers” which was recently displayed in St. Georges Church, Penge. Most of the pictures have been painted and kindly donated by members of the SE20 Art Group and Penge Men In Sheds. The rest have been painted by equally generous local artists. All sales from “The Cross of Flowers” will be donated to St. Christopher’s Hospice.
All are welcome to come and enjoy the art on the day, there will be tea and cakes and plenty of friendly faces. We’d love to see you there – even if only to use our venue as a bathroom stop!
The annual Penge Festival Art Trail takes place every year and St. Hugh’s is just one of many open venues taking part. There are lots of local artists with a wide range of skills: fine artists, print makers, photographers, ceramic artists, glass makers, textile artists, jewellers, sculptors, to name but a few! There will be art for viewing and appreciation or for sale, as well as art workshops, where you can get involved for free.
